The Forbidden City, also called Palace Museum Or Gugong Museum (in Chinese), is located in the center of Beijing, China that used to be an imperial housing complex for the emperors .In the ancient time, the emperor was claimed to be the son of the heaven and their supreme power was conferred upon them from the heaven. Their residence on the earth was built as a replica of the Purple Palace where the God lived in the Heaven. Such divine place was forbidden for the ordinary people & that’s why it was called Forbidden City.

It was constructed over a 14 year period, from 1407 to 1420, during the Ming dynasty and required more than a million workers. To represent the supreme power of the emperor from the God and the place where the he lived being the center of the world, all the gates, palace and other structures were arranged on both sides of the south-north central axis covering about 72 ha. It is surrounded by a wall about 30 ft high, and a moat almost 20 ft deep. The walls encompass an area almost 8 million sq ft, or 168 acres. The complex houses 9,999 rooms; 9 is considered a particularly propitious number in Chinese numerology. The walls of the buildings are red, their roofs yellow. Yellow was the Imperial color and was forbidden to those who were not members of the Imperial family. It was designed to be the centre of the ancient, walled city of Beijing.

Rio de Janeiro Harbor
Rio de Janeiro Harbor
The Rio de Janeiro Harbor in Brazil is one of the most spectacular natural harbors in the world. The city of Rio de Janeiro is developed between the mountains and Guanabara Bay on the Atlantic Ocean and surrounds the natural harbor. It is also the setting of the famous white sands of the Cocpacabana and Ipanemabeaches. The harbor is overlooked by Sugar Loaf Mountain and also home of Tijuca Forest, the largest urban wooded area in the world.

It is claimed that Rid de Janeiro was named by Portuguese explorers and it means "River of January" because when they arrived in January 1502, they believed it to be the mouth of a river and not a bay. The city was officially founded by the Portuguese knight Estacio de Sa, when he arrived in 1565. Brazil gained independence in 1822 and Rio de Janeiro served as its capital until 1960.
